Were all suckers for vampires
(0 comments)
It’s a global phenomenon- vampire fantasies have taken over our theatres, television screens and our best seller lists. The Twilight series has many across the globe hyperventilating and counting down the nanosecond until the next movie instalment, whilst the lovely Miss Richelle Mead has many more literally glued to the page with her best selling Vampire Academy series. So what is it about vampires which has us all literally thirsting for more? Richelle believes it’s a fascination to explore darker elements of human behaviour, and because basically vampires are fun. No arguments there, I know many in our office who will be skipping out the door come November 19th when New Moon is released. It will be on their ‘coffin break’ of course.

Who’s that? Can you guess? It’s our favourite Mornings co-host Jamie looking a little worse for wear. Get some rest Jamie, you could definately use some beauty sleep.

Fierce fashions
(0 comments)
The TAFE Fashion Design Studio has turned out some of the true greats of the Australian fashion industry including Alex Perry and Lisa Ho. And if today’s demonstration of feathers and fabulousness are anything to go by it looks like we might have the new generation of greats on our hands. With the theme of ‘A passion for Purity’ we saw some truly heavenly hand crafted creations. The silks, taffeta’s and added bling made these gowns absolutely sensational. The winner of the competition will be announced next Wednesday by a panel of celebrity adjudicators. Look out Mr Alex Perry, you may have some competition on your hands!

Beating the cancer blues
(0 comments)
He’s forged a career as a pop singer, talent manager and relentless Idol judge but Mark Holden is leaving it all behind to champion a good cause. We pulled out the blue paint and left the former Pop star literally blue in the face in support of Blue September to raise awareness of cancer in men. Mr Holden has done a 180 on the career path, completing his law degree and articles to become a barrister. And after watching him on Idol, I certainly wouldn’t want to come up against him in a courtroom.

Jack of all trades

He acts, he writes, he recites, what can’t Mr Jack Thompson do? This Australian has been in very high demand recently, working with the likes of Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce and the incomparable Clint Eastwood. A regular over the years on Mornings we couldn’t talk about Henry Lawson and bush poetry without him. He performed a personal favourite of mine and many others this morning, the classic ‘The Loaded Dog.’ I can't think of anyone who could do more justice to Lawson's words than Jack Thompson.

Scottiebum
(2 comments)

For centuries people have pondered – what is under a Scotsman’s kilt? Well we attempted to solve the age old question with some help from out favourite Aussiebum boys. The new range of Aussiebum underwear and swimwear ensures that every Scotsman can rest easy knowing he is properly attired and supported if there be any stiff breeze. In a range of traditional colours we’re certain these will be popular among both the kilted and non kilted. They were certainly popular in the studio this morning.

Geoff Field the diplomat
(0 comments)
Poor Geoff! He’s certainly been through a lot over the past couple of weeks and the boys from No Junk Male were not going to let it stop there. There was prodding, poking and haggling for info on the Kyle and Jackie-O controversy but Geoff stuck to his guns and for that we awarded him this T-Shirt. It says ‘I am a diplomat ps I need to keep my job.’ Very fitting we think!
