They played some of the most beloved characters in film and television history, the heroes of the sci-fi world joined me on stage to talk life, friendship and intergalatical experiences. It was such a trip seeing Jack Lloyd as a grown man with facial hair! I think most of us will always see him as young Anakin Skywalker from all those years ago. But it wasn’t hard to recognise Dirk Benedict and Richard Hatch from Battlestar Galactica. Looking good boys! Jack, Dirk and Richard are in the country as part of Supanova - Australia's biggest pop-culture convention. The force is definitely still strong with these ones.
We may not have been on Friday, but we didn’t forget to wear our red noses. Hope you all remembered too! Here we are with our most serious red nose day faces on.
Chastity Bono’s decision to undergo a sex change must have been difficult. But imagine being married with four children! Until recently this was Ian, a family man with four daughters. But as of 2006 Ian became Robyn, and as a consequence, a lot more comfortable in her own skin. Luckily for both Chaz Bono and Robyn their families stuck by them, with Cher and Robyn’s daughters supporting their decision. Such unconditional love must be so important as they go through this life altering process. We wish both of them the best of luck.
We had a very special guest on the show this week. He’s exceptionally popular, talented and universally adored. I am of course talking about my gorgeous dog Harvey. Oh and Cesar Milan came along for the ride as well.
All jokes aside I was thrilled to have the Dog Whisperer himself join us on Mornings. His methods have been hailed as controversial but his success speaks for itself. I have been a huge fan of his program on the Discovery Channel. From beagles to boxers, poodles to pit bulls it seems there’s nothing this man can’t train. What do we think girls, husbands next?
It was an emotionally uplifting show Tuesday as we had two very different but equally strong women on the show. Latifia Ali’s story is truly incredible. Our phone lines were ringing off the hook with people trying to get their hands on her book ‘Betrayed.’ From being on Saddam Hussein’s hit list to fearing becoming a victim of honour killing, her survival against the odds is simply inspiring. Lara Bingle is another inspiration. Since her fathers death last year she has become a spokesperson for Bowel Cancer Australia raising awareness of the disease and advocating regular checkups. It was a pleasure having such wonderful women on the show.
Posted 05/06/09 at 02:00 pm The week in pictures (0 comments) It was a huge week on mornings. Martin Short kept us thoroughly entertained Monday. I admit I’ve been a fan since Franck' the wedding planner in "Father of the Bride." He is a true master of comedy and improvisation and it was an absolute delight. And speaking of delightful, Lorna Luft dazzled us with her rendition of Hello Bluebird but with a mother like the one and only Judy Garland it comes as no surprise. And then there were those gorgeous albino dingoes. It’s hard to believe these little ones could ever be controversial. Aren’t they just gorgeous?

Oh those chaser boys certainly keep a gal entertained. Their outrageous sense of humour and controversial antics has gotten them into a whole lot of trouble and we’ve loved every minute of it. Their latest scandal involved the Vatican and a helium filled blimp (I’ll leave it up to your imagination). All in a days work for these Chaser boys who never let the possibility of a lengthy jail sentence prevent them from pulling off a great gag. We put them to the test today asking them some tough questions with our wheel of fortune including which celebrity they would let their partner sleep with. Apparently I’m the lucky lass. Well I never!
