Stephen Downie – Star File

A film about looming death might not sound like a winner - unless Hollywood heavyweights Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman are starring.

In 'The Bucket List', the Oscar winners play a pair of men battling cancer who strike up an unlikely friendship and are determined to spend their last months living, not dying.

The film has just been released on DVD and The Daily Telegraph's Stephen Downie is our guest reviewer.
Find out how you can win a RedBalloon Day experience with The Bucket List
here!

Grandparent Carers

An increasing number of older Australians are looking after their grandchildren...
The latest figures showing that at least 22 thousand households have children being raised by their grandparents.

GRANDPARENTS RESOURCE KIT:
The Resource Kit for Relative Carers addresses the most commonly asked questions by relative carers at support groups and during requests for assistance over the phone.
It includes a chapter on financial assistance and legal support, as well as a section from relative carers sharing their experiences of raising their grandchildren. Some information is relevant only for NSW residents.
The Resource Kit is free however bulk orders (to agencies etc.) may incur postage and handling costs. The Resource Kit was developed by the Kinship Care Regional Project and is funded by the Western Sydney Area Assistance Scheme. The Project provides support and information to relative carers with full-time care of a relative's child. Support groups are available in the three LGA's of Blue Mountains, Penrith and Hawkesbury. However we encourage carers throughout Australia to read the Resource Kit.
For your copy please call Springwood Neighbourhood Centre: 02 47513033 or contact

Shoe Parade

Celebrities like Kylie and Dannii Minogue have fallen head over heels for her stunning stilettos.

And now shoe designer MARY-KYRI PALLARIS is being compared to the likes of Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik for her fabulous footwear.

Not bad for a woman who only started her business two years ago from a suburban garage in Adelaide.

She will join us to showcase shoes from her latest collection.
